Chairman's Restaurant in Berea, Durban is expanding our kitchen team and looking for a Food Prep Assistant to support morning mise en place.\n\nChairman's is a well-established restaurant known for our diverse menu of South African, Indian-influenced, and international dishes. We run a busy kitchen with two sittings nightly.\n\nYou will assist with:\n• Vegetable preparation, butchery prep, and sauce bases\n• Opening kitchen duties from 8am to 4pm shift\n• Restocking and maintaining prep station cleanliness\n• Supporting the Commis Chef during busy prep periods\n\nRequirements:\n• Basic kitchen skills and knife handling\n• Ability to follow recipes and portion control instructions\n• HACCP food safety awareness (training provided)\n• Reliable, punctual, and honest\n\nNo formal culinary qualification required. A willingness to learn and grow in a professional kitchen is what matters most.
