Rosetta Roastery, one of Johannesburg's most respected independent specialty coffee roasters, is hiring a barista for their Braamfontein cafe.\n\nRosetta sources directly from farms in East Africa, Colombia, and Brazil. You'll be making coffee you can be proud of.\n\nWe're looking for:\n• Someone who genuinely cares about the quality of what's in the cup\n• 6+ months specialty coffee bar experience\n• Confident espresso technique\n• Good palate and ability to distinguish flavour notes during cupping\n• Friendly, unhurried customer interaction style\n\nWhat we provide:\n• Full training on Rosetta's roast profiles and brewing parameters\n• Paid entry to SCASA regional competitions if you wish to compete\n• Monthly cupping sessions and origin education\n• 50% discount on all retail coffee\n\nShifts run Mon–Sat, 7am–4pm. We are closed Sundays.

Pros: Rosetta has produced more SA barista champions than any other company. The technical coffee education here is the best in the country. If your goal is to compete internationally, this is the only choice. The team culture is deeply passionate and knowledgeable.
Cons: Pay is low relative to the skill level. Woodstock is not accessible via public transport in the early morning.

Pros: Training baristas to national champion level is genuinely rewarding work. The curriculum developed at Rosetta is the most comprehensive in SA.
Cons: Trainer pay needs to reflect the expertise and competition preparation time invested.
